CAG (Coronary Angiography)
Assam's Premier Multi Superspeciality Hospital
About CAG (Coronary Angiography)
X-ray imaging of the heart arteries to find blockages and plan angioplasty or bypass surgery.
Coronary Angiography (CAG) shows the arteries that supply the heart. A thin catheter is passed from the wrist or groin to the heart and contrast dye is injected while X-ray images are taken.
CAG is the definitive test for coronary artery disease. If a significant blockage is found, angioplasty (PTCA) can often be done in the same sitting.
