Heart Bypass Surgery (CABG)
Assam's Premier Multi Superspeciality Hospital
About Heart Bypass Surgery (CABG)
Coronary artery bypass grafting to restore blood flow to the heart around multiple or complex blockages.
Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG) is open-heart surgery that uses a healthy blood vessel from the chest, arm or leg to route blood around blocked coronary arteries. It is often recommended when several arteries are blocked, when the main artery is affected, or when angioplasty is not suitable.
Our cardiothoracic surgeons perform CABG in modular cardiac theatres, either on the beating heart or with a heart-lung machine. After surgery, patients are cared for in the cardiac ICU and supported through rehabilitation back to daily life.
