Moya Moya Research Centre
Assam's Premier Multi Superspeciality Hospital
About Moya Moya Research Centre
A dedicated centre for the diagnosis, surgical treatment and long-term follow-up of Moya Moya disease in children and adults.
Moya Moya disease is a rare, progressive condition in which the large arteries at the base of the brain slowly narrow, reducing blood flow and raising the risk of stroke, mini-strokes (TIAs) and bleeding in the brain. It affects both children and adults.
The NENC Moya Moya Research Centre brings neurosurgeons, neurologists, interventional radiologists and critical care specialists together under one roof. Each patient is evaluated with MRI, perfusion studies and digital subtraction angiography (DSA) before a treatment plan is made, and is followed up over the long term so outcomes can be tracked and care keeps improving.
Who can benefit?
- Moya Moya disease and Moya Moya syndrome

Frequently Asked Questions
There is no medicine that reverses the narrowing, but revascularisation (bypass) surgery restores blood flow to the brain and significantly lowers the risk of further strokes for most patients.
